Fredericktown Saddle Club By-Laws
Article I-Name The name of the club shall be the Fredericktown Saddle Club, organized in Knox County, Ohio. Article II-Purpose The club will organize and run Fun Shows for the public at an affordable price. The purpose of these shows is to provide a safe, fun place for families and friends to share their love of horse activities. Article III-Membership Section A: The membership of the club shall consist of members who have an interest in helping with the fun shows. Members will show this interest by attending meetings to plan shows, paying yearly dues to the club, and agreeing to abide by all club rules and regulations. Section B: As a benefit of membership, members may have their grounds fees waived for horses ridden by the member's immediate family. In order for the grounds fees to be waived, the member must work at least one hour a night on the night the fees are to be waived. Members must sign in at the entry stand and have an officer document your time. Article IV-Officers, Nominations and Elections Section A: The club will have the following officers: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary that are elected annually at the organizational meeting in January. Officers may serve successive terms. Any vacancy in offices may be filled when they occur by special election. 1. President shall preside at all meetings and perform all acts incident to the office of President. 2. Vice President shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of the President. The Vice President shall also assist the President and perform other duties designated by the President. 3. Treasurer shall have charge and custody, along with the President, for all the funds generated by the club and shall keep accurate and adequate records of all assets, liabilities, and transactions of the club. The treasurer shall deposit all monies into the bank accounts established by the club for those monies. The treasurer shall also disburse, with proper documentation, the funds to pay for the club's obligations. 4. Secretary shall keep and record the minutes of all meetings. The secretary shall also maintain a current roster of members. Section B: Nominations for officers shall begin at the December meeting and remain open until the January meeting. Nominations may be made by any club member. Sections C: Elections are held at the January Organizational Meeting. Members who have attended three meetings or worked three shows in the prior year are eligible to vote. Article V-Committees Section A: Executive Committee will be made up of the officers of the club. The committee shall make any business decisions that must be made prior to the next regular business meeting. The club members may delegate decisions to this group. Section B: Standing Committees are appointed by the President and serve as long as they are needed. Each committee will consist of a chair and enough members to get the task accomplished. Article VI-Meetings Section A: The club will meet once monthly on dates determined by the executive committee. Once determined, club meeting dates will be announced and posted at the horse show (if shows are ongoing) and posted on the club website (www.fredericktownsaddleclub.weebly.com) for all members and prospective members. Section B: Special Meetings may be called by any member of the executive committee. Section C: Quorum-A majority of the officers shall constitute a quorum for all meetings. All meetings where any business is transacted must have a quorum of the executive committee. In the absence of a quorum, a majority of the officers present may, without giving notice other than announcement at the meeting, adjourn the meeting until such a time as a quorum is present. |
